Story
At 8:42 AM on Friday, September 30, we were dispatched to a truck fire on Route 24, John J. Williams Highway, near the Holly Lake Campgrounds. On arrival, we found a van with a fire in the engine area on the corner of Route 24 and County Road 301, Holly Lake Road. An attack with a foam hand line brought the fire under control quickly with damage confined to the front portion of the van. Route 24 was shut down during the initial attack, and then our Fire Police were able to maintain a single lane of traffic until fire apparatus cleared the area. Twenty firefighters were in service for forty-two minutes for this call.
