On Wednesday, August 31, our monthly training was on Pump Operations and Hose Practices. We used the new retention pond at Pot-Nets Bayside near the new office building. As it was still 80 degrees and humid when drill started, our usual turnout gear rules were relaxed. Engine 80-5 used a fire hydrant and practiced different lead-outs for hand lines. The light tower on Engine 80-5 lit the scene. Engine 80-7 was set up to draft from the retention pond.
