Nature: Residential Structure Fire

Address: Crab Alley East, Pot Nets Creekside, Long Neck, DE 19966

At 2:41 AM on Sunday, August 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the area of 25626 Crab Alley East in the Pot-Nets Creekside development for a reported working structure fire.

Other emergency response entities included the Lewes Fire Department (82) and the Sussex County Paramedics.

The initial officer on location, Chief Steve Hawkins who was the Duty Officer, reported a manufactured home (single wide) structured fully involved.

No one was in the residence at the time of the fire.

First responding apparatus was Engine 80-2 used its deck gun to knock down much of the fire and kept it from spreading to any other buildings and structures.

The Millsboro Fire Company (83), covered Indian River Station 1 during this call, while Rehoboth Beach (86) and Milton (85) fire companies provided coverage for Lewes Fire Department.

Twenty-nine (29) Indian River firefighters were in service for two hours and thirty minutes during this incident.

This fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.
