Nature: Joint Company Training – Water Rescue

Location: Indian River Bay Near Oak Orchard

On Wednesday, July 26th, the Indian River and Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company conducted a joint training exercise within the Indian River Bay.  The training incident was a white Wahoo vessel with a red top with seven soles onboard taking on water and unknown injuries.

Emergency response vessels include 80 Marine 1 from the Massey’s Landing facility; 80 Marine 2 from the Pot Nets Bayside area; and 83 Marine 1 from the Gull Point facility.

The first arriving vessel located and identified the vessel with five persons in the water with unknown injuries and complaints as well as three other persons on the vessel.  It was reported to be taking on water.  All victims in the water needed emergency pre-hospital medical attention and triage.

All persons were back boarded and transported to Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp.
