Story
Along with the major accidents in our district recently, we have handled several smaller incidents. On March 15, we responded to a two car MVA on Route 24, John J. Williams Highway, near Gull point Road. Here is a picture of the cars and damage. On March 16, we responded to another two car MVA at the Dash In at Route 24, John J. Williams Highway, and Long Neck Road. We found this pickup truck in the ditch and the other vehicle in the parking lot. Both had minor damage. On March 20, we were dispatched to Streets Road for an ATV accident. The patient, who had been riding the ATV, was transported to the hospital by ground transportation. Also on March 20, we responded to William Ritter Manor for a medical assist. Here is a picture of the Paramedics truck. On March 22, we responded to Pot-Nets Creekside for a brush fire. It turned out to be leaves in the yard of a residence. Even when things are not really active, there is much to do around the Stations. Chief Engineer Jim Wagner and Assistant Chief Engineer Harry Dawson (wearing a hat) check out equipment between calls. On March 27, we responded to Lingo Estates for a gas leak. Here is the crew entering the home after checking with the resident. On March 28, State Police requested our assistance at an accident at Route 24, John J. Williams Highway, and Oak Orchard Road. They requested lighting at the scene an Fire Police for traffic control. One of the pickup trucks involved in the accident was wanted in connection with the homicide in Pot-Nets Bayside earlier in the day. On March 29, we assisted Station 83, Millsboro, at a MVA on Route 5, Indian Mission Road. The driver lost control and backed into a tree.
