Nature: Vehicle Fire

Location: 35482 East Harbor Dr., White House Beach, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, July 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on East Harbor Drive in the White House Beach development off of Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be a single vehicle fully involved.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-3 and 80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression and other incident mitigation items which included notification of the development owners because of heat and fire damage to the pavement, notification of the Delaware State Police because the vehicle was in motion at the time of the incident, and traffic control.

It appears that a single golf cart caught fire and completely burned.  The fire did cause the batteries to explode.

The were no reported injuries.
