On Wednesday evening, April 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on John J. Williams Highway. Emergency response units included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. As a result of membership training in Georgetown, the Millsboro (83) Fire Company was alerted to assist Indian River. Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation and evaluation. The incident was downgraded to just Indian River units. The battery was disconnected and a thermal imaging camera was utilized for heat evaluation. It appears that white Mercedes Benz ML430 SUV was encountered an electrical issue as a result of previous motor vehicle accident. |
