On Sunday afternoon, April 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a service call to assistance in the search for a reported missing canine that was last seen chasing deer with in marshy area of the waterway tributaries.

Apparatus response units included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Incident Command, Utility 80-8 with Polaris 80, Utility 80-11 with inflatable unit from the Oak Orchard facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Incident response assignments included evaluation and search for the reported missing canine.

Various golfers indicated that the watch the canine chase deer within the area. The did not notice the canine any longer but could hear whining from the animal.

Personnel continued evaluation and searching for approximately an hour before calling off all activities.
