Nature: Gas Leak

Location: The Resort at Massey's Landing

On Saturday, April 1st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak incident in the Resort at Massey’s Landing.

Emergency response units from Indian River included an engine from the Long Neck facility as well as Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident evaluation to ensure no active gas leak.  All other emergency response apparatus was cancelled

It appears that the incident was the result of a minor motor vehicle which a red Ford pick-up vehicle reportedly jumped in reverse and struck the side of an RV near the unit’s propane tank. There was no active gas leak.

The incident is being investigated.
