Nature: Building Fire

On Thursday evening, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), and Millsboro (83) volunteer fire companies were alerted for a structure fire at the Long Neck Apartments on River Bend Drive. It was reported to be in the kitchen.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation and verification of the origin.

It was determined that the kitchen incident was the result of inattentive cooking.

Corrective included residential ventilation and removal of the cooking remnants.
