Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: In Front of Giant John J Williams Hwy and Plaza Drive, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday evening, March 1st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at Plaza Drive. It was reported as a two-vehicle incident.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Other responding resources included the local emergency medical services provider.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, and incident mitigation. This segment of John J. Williams Highway was closed for the duration of the incident.

It appears that both vehicles were entering the intersection prior to the collision.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the traffic pattern closures.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
