Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Wawa (80) 24930 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, February 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Wawa in Long Neck. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with unknown injuries at the time of dispatch.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, and overall scene mitigation.

It appears that a Buick LaSabre and a Ford Expedition collided near an entrance and exit ramp to the roadway. The cause of the collision is unknown at this time. Both vehicles sustained damaged.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control measures to mitigate the traffic situation.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
