Nature: Woods Fire

Location: 25869 Kings Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday, December 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a woods fire on Kings Lane in the Enchanted Acres development off of Long Neck Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Brush #80-00 from the Oak Orchard facility, Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression activities for the wood and brush fire located within the residential development. Various home owners offered assistance with garden hoses, rakes, and shovels.

It appears that the hedge row of brush and tree lines caught fire under suspicious origin and was reported to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office was notified of the incident.
