Nature: Elevator/Escalator Rescue

Location: 33571 Windswept Dr., The Peninsula, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday evening, November 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an elevator rescue incident on Windswept Drive in the Peninsula off of Bay Farm Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard site and Brush 80-0 as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response assignments included obtaining access via the Knox Box and accessing the elevators to open the device. It appears that the elevator malfunctioned with two occupants while in the operational mode. The occupants were freed without any incident.

No additional services from the fire company were needed.

Advice to contact maintenance personnel was tendered.
