Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Location: Long Neck Rd and Palmer Dr., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, September 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Palmer Drive. It was reported to be a single vehicle roll-over.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the local emergency medical services provider.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, and incident mitigation.

It appears that a black Toyota Four Runner SUV was traveling north on Long Neck Road and lost control striking a mailbox and overturning on the shoulder of the roadway.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and limited Long Neck Road to one lane of traffic for the duration of the call.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
