Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Cannon Rd and Mount Joy Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

Early Tuesday morning, May 31st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident on Cannon Road near Mount Joy Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle into the wooded area.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility. The Delaware State Fire Police were also utilized to coordinate traffic control.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, incident mitigation, debris and fluid recovery as well as traffic control. It appears that a Scion was traveling on Cannon Road near Mount Joy Road and lost control for an unknown reason striking some trees and significantly damaging the vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the traffic control measures while Mount Joy Road was closed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
