Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Prior To Mount Joy Road - Townsend Rd and Harmony Cemetery Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, April 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Townsend Road and Harmony Cemetery Road near Millsboro. It was reported to be a single vehicle.

Emergency response crews from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization where needed and assist with patient removal from the vehicle. It was determined that roof extrication was necessary to accomplish the objective.

It appears that Hyundai sedan was traveling on Townsend Road and lost control for an unknown reason traveling off the roadway causing significant damage to the vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
