Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Vehicle Roll Over with Reported Entrapment – Inland Bay Road

On Wednesday, February 24th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Inland Bay Road off of Townsend Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle roll-over with entrapment of both occupant of the vehicle.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility, Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization and assist with scene mitigation where needed. There was no entrapment at the time of emergency response unit arrivals.

It appears that a black KIA Soul was traveling on Inland Bay Road and lost control for an unknown reason striking a tree and overturning.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
