Indian River Provides Tour of Oak Orchard Areas of Flooding

On Friday, February 12th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company provided a tour the flood prone areas of Oak Orchard for the Honorables Thomas R. Carper, United States Senator, and Brian Pettyjohn, Delaware State Senator as well as members of their staff.

The Senators had an exclusive opportunity to tour Oak Orchard areas such as Mercer Avenue, Riverview Ave, Oak Orchard Road, Delaware Avenue, Pearl Street, and River Road. The tour included numerous opportunities to walk the see the impacted areas.

Sen.Tom Carper visited Oak Orchard Feb. 12 to thank the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company members who rescued people from their flooded homes last month, and tour the areas effected by continuous flooding and most recently by the January nor'easter.
