Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Friday evening, January 22nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident, car reported on fire on Hollymount Road between Beaver Dam Road and Indian Mission Road.

Emergency response units from the Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-3 and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility. The Delaware State Fire Police also participated in the emergency response.

It was reported that the vehicle ran off of the roadway during a period of significant inclement weather and ran over a Verizon utility box causing a minor fire.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the roadway closure during the incident mitigation phase.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
