Dry & windy weather keeps fire crews busy

Indian River Fire crews have been called out twice this afternoon for field or brush fires. The first blaze – just before 1 p.m. involved about 2 acres of farmland off Cannon Road near the Inland Bay Wastewater Facility. The second fire was at 2:30 p.m. in the area of Dukes Boat Sales on Long Neck Road. The drier and windy weather can spread a fire quickly – remember to use your car astray.
